About My Clients
Often, eating disorder shows up in one’s life as a little voice that tells you “you are not worthy “, “you are ugly” etc. This voice invalidates your experience and feelings, berates your character and criticizes your appearance. ED becomes an internal bully, which only gets stronger as you listen to it and try to get to its unrealistic standard by engaging in destructive behaviors. I can help you to start hearing your own voice, create a new narrative for your life and break free from ED.
My Background and Approach
I have Masters degree from Santa Clara University, in SF Bay Area. I have over 6 years of professional experience in variety of settings: schools (family issues), community clinic (sexual assault traumas, domestic violence), PHP and IOP treatment centers (for eating disorders) and private practice. I continue to develop professionally and currently pursue the official certification in Gottman method. I am active in my professional community and serve on the board of CREDN, an organization for clinicians, specializing in Eating Disorders.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I practice from a feminist and social justice lens. I strive to validate you and empower you to be your own advocate. I adhere to the Health at Every Size philosophy. I welcome people of all races, ethnicities, gender identities, body sizes and sexual orientations. Often, social oppression that minorities experience on a daily basis plays a significant role in the development of their eating disorder. Talking about it, is a first step to healing.
