About My Clients
I help people between the ages of 16 to 60 who need help with a variety of life issues through use of evidence-based treatment modalities. I have experience working with individuals who are struggling with depression, anxiety, trauma and have specialized experience working with psychotic disorders.
My Background and Approach
One of the most basic things many of us don't realize we lack in is having a variety of healthy coping skills. It's my goal to work with you in developing and implementing these before we move on to some of the root causes of your current feelings. Through my training and experience, I'm equipped to help you to process through some of the things you've been struggling with. I have experience working with a variety of populations, including people struggling with depression, anxiety, and trauma. I also have specialized experience working with psychosis and know just how scary this can be for the person with the symptoms and their loved ones. I have my Master of Arts (MA) in Counseling and Guidance and have been a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in Missouri since 2014. Over the last 11 years, I have worked diligently at providing people with a safe space to talk and to feel supported in a judgement-free, unbiased way. I hope to be able to do the same for you.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
One of the most important elements of counseling is the relationship between a client and their counselor. It's very important to me to create a safe, comfortable space where you can process through whatever concerns or stressors you might have. As a therapist, and as someone who has a personal history of anxiety, I know that we are all capable of growth and change - as long as it's what we truly want and we're willing to do the work. Originally being from Miami, these midwest winters are *tough* on me! I'm a Miami Hurricanes fan (kind of a requirement in our house!), but won't hold it against you if you'd rather root for some other, less-than-awesome team.
