About My Clients
I specialize in working with adults who struggle with depression, anxiety, trauma, addiction, relationship concerns, disabilities, and neurodivergence. I work with a variety of people from different cultures, sexual orientations, lifestyle preferences, or belief systems.
My Background and Approach
I help by developing an understanding of your experiences, your perspectives, and your goals. Together, we build on strengths, identify challenges, and gently shift thoughts and actions to align with what you want for yourself. I take a developmental, trauma-informed, and ecological approach. This means I use care as we examine your development within various systems (e.g., family of origin, schooling, community, religion, etc.) to acknowledge how you coped, what is working, and what tools you need to move forward.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I am anti-oppression and I understand that therapy is a socio-political act. I have a responsibility to myself, to you, and to the community to examine myself and what I bring to the session. I do my best to position myself as your teammate because I believe my job is to hear you, reflect back to you, and gently challenge to develop clarity and mental flexibility.
