About My Clients
My clients seek support in navigating significant transitions in their lives. Whether these are related to academic or career changes, changes within a family or relationship structure, loss of a loved one, past trauma, or in navigating their sexual orientation or gender identity, transitions such as these can lead us to feel overwhelmed, destabilized, and afraid. My focus is on adults who seek to feel more empowered. Many folks I work with identify as LGBTQ+, ENM, or polyamorous.
My Background and Approach
In my clinical training, I have developed a practical and conversational style that is result-oriented and uses an integrative model. I've completed training in several evidence-based interventions (CBT, DBT, solutions focused therapy) and incorporate these with traditional psychodynamic approaches. As a queer and trans-identified therapist, I’ve worked extensively with lesbian, gay, and bisexual people as well as non-binary and transgender individuals. I have successfully helped folks in monogamous, non-monogamous, and polyamorous relationships strengthen their communication and improve their bonds. My approach is affirming and sex positive while also acknowledging of the nuanced ways our personal experiences impact our everyday lives. Prior to my career as a private therapist, I worked as an educational and financial counselor. You will find that I am a caring and compassionate listener, and one who is genuinely curious about the depth and complexity of our lives.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I am personally committed to human rights, LGBTQ and anti-racist initiatives, income equality, disability justice, and environmental protection.
