About My Clients
My clients seek support in navigating significant transitions in their lives. Whether these are related to navigating their sexual orientation or gender identity, healing from past trauma and grief, or addressing concerns they have about their sexual health and sexuality. My focus is on adults who seek to feel more empowered in their lives and decision making. Many folks I work with identify as LGBTQ+, ENM, or polyamorous. I also welcome cisgender, heterosexual, and monogamous individuals.
My Background and Approach
I am an AASECT certified Sex Therapist and licensed clinical social worker. My clinical approach is conversational, practical, and solution-focused. I have advanced training in sexuality and sex education, as well as trauma, grief, and somatic therapy. I tend to use a relational model and incorporate elements of behavioral therapies in my weekly interventions. As a queer and trans-identified therapist, I’ve worked extensively with lesbian, gay, and bisexual people as well as non-binary and transgender individuals. I am an ENM and kink affirming clinician and I welcome clients who are ethnically and culturally diverse, who live with disabilities, and who experience the world through a neurodivergent lens. You will find that I am a caring and compassionate listener, and one who is genuinely curious about the depth and complexity of our experiences.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
In a world where so many people are actively being harmed by systems that refuse to recognize them, I feel that speaking openly in therapy about social and political views and experiences is integral to the work. I welcome clients who have felt marginalized or "othered" in the treatment room, as well as those with beliefs that may differ from my own. I believe that humans are generally well-meaning and want what is best for themselves and their loved ones. We have collectively reached crisis levels of isolation and fear, and this is not an issue for therapists to avoid but to embrace and help clients navigate in their personal and professional lives.
