About My Clients
You may be here because something in your life no longer feels quite right, or because you're ready to understand yourself more deeply. I hope you find a space to be honest, feel understood, and make sense of what you need. Disconnection can come through trauma or painful relationships, or look like anxiety, depression, perfectionism, burnout, or always being the one others rely on. Our work may include trauma, anxiety, depression, relationships, identity, neurodivergence, or life transitions.
My Background and Approach
I'm Autumn Maxwell, LPC-A, supervised by Latasha Teamer, LPC-S. My life has not always followed a straight path, and those experiences shaped my commitment to this work. Through military leadership, human resources, my work as a therapist, and now as a doctoral student in psychology, I have worked with people across many backgrounds and seasons of life, and seen how easy it is to lose pieces of ourselves while trying to survive, meet expectations, or care for others. I believe healing begins with being seen as a whole person: your past, relationships, family, culture, identity, faith, and life experiences all help tell the story of who you are. In therapy, we can explore those pieces with curiosity and compassion, including parts of yourself you may have learned to hide or criticize. My role is not to tell you who to become. I walk alongside you, help you understand patterns that keep you stuck, offer insight and tools for healing, and create space for you to reconnect with yourself.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I value authenticity, freedom, autonomy, compassion, curiosity, and individuality. I believe in having the freedom to think deeply, question honestly, live according to your convictions, and make choices for your life that genuinely reflect who you are.
