Autumn Green (she/her)

My focus at Northwestern and currently at Baylor are race related issues in society and higher education. I have worked with clients who have wanted to challenge their biases and beliefs around race in America. I also have experience in working with clients of color who simply want to vent and work through race related issues with someone who looks like them.

As a plus-size woman myself, I understand the struggles that come with weight and body image issues in today's society. I have worked with clients who have struggled with eating disorders, dating, and confidence in public.

During my time at Northwestern, I also had a focus on sexual trauma and assault for men, women, and adolescents.

Counseling is wonderful and long term counseling has its place in our world, but some individuals need and want results and healing in a brief amount of time. I incorporate Solution Focused Therapy into treatment for clients who going through stress, anxiety, depression, or life transitions. My approach is really focusing on getting to the root of the issue of concern and working on that weekly to promote growth and healing.

I use realistic and rational thinking to promote healing and growth in clients suffering from symptoms of trauma, depression, and anxiety. I believe in trying our hardest to focus and live in the present to decrease worry or sadness.

My training foundation is psychodynamic based which is my passion and love. This form of therapy dives deep into a client's story (narrative) to point out patterns and themes that are still impacting daily function in the present.
