About My Clients
I work with a variety of individuals looking to take the next step towards change. I believe that each of us is on a unique journey and I consider it a privilege to listen to your story and help you achieve your goals in counseling. I provide an intuitive, supportive, collaborative, and empathetic space for your story to unfold and will work with you on creating the life you want. Together we can identify those “ah ha” moments of insight and move you towards wellness, healing, and growth.
My Background and Approach
I know that “one size does not fit all” and your needs may be quite different from someone else’s. That is why I take the time to listen to your story and your specific concerns. My approach uses a variety of techniques from: Solution Focused, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Strength-Based counseling. I also rely on my intuition, which is one of the greatest gifts I can offer you! I have worked with diverse populations for 10 years in vocational rehabilitation (people with disabilities), career counseling, and most recently private practice. I have a bachelor's degree from University of Washington in English, and a Masters of Arts in Counseling from Western Seminary. I am also a Dependable Strengths Trainer and have my LMHC.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
My greatest hope is that you feel supported and heard in counseling, and your voice can come forth in confidence. I rely on my intuition to get at the areas that aren't necessarily spoken or understood, and work with you jointly on understanding them. I believe that I will learn as much from you as you do from me because the therapy relationship is a powerful one. I also have tools and resources that can assist us in the process as we learn how to support you in positive change, healing, and/or peace.
