About My Clients

The negative beliefs we carry have the potential to shape our entire perspective about the world we live in. I often ask my clients: “What might it feel like to replace that negative belief with a positive one—and truly believe it?” Life can throw unexpected challenges that leave us questioning our worth or confidence. Through evidence-based modalities, I work to provide insight and new perspectives, helping you gently challenge and transform those deeply rooted negative beliefs.

My Background and Approach

My approach is simple: I strive to meet clients exactly where they are, while offering support so they don’t have to navigate that place alone. I prioritize the therapeutic relationship through rapport building and approaching your presenting concerns with curiosity rather than judgement. I graduated with my masters degree in social work from Texas Tech University (Wreck 'em!) and moved to Phoenix shortly after to start my career in psychotherapy. The bulk of my clinical training was with veterans and military-affiliated individuals. I have specialized in treating complex PTSD and depression through modalities like Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. I have also led a workshop at the 2024 National Sexual Assault Conference in Washington, DC where I taught civilian providers how to provide culturally competent and trauma-informed care when working with survivors of Military Sexual Trauma.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I am a strong ally of the LGBTQIA2+ community and am committed to providing a nonjudgmental, affirming space where individuals can safely explore their sexuality and gender identity. I also volunteer with a local harm reduction agency, meeting people who use substances and those experiencing homelessness with kindness, respect, and genuine compassion. In addition, I support a local healthcare organization by helping coordinate community gatherings that promote equitable access to care for all, regardless of religious or political beliefs. Autonomy and unconditional positive regard are core principles that guide my work. I strive to ensure these values are reflected in every therapeutic relationship I build. I strive to uphold core social work values-especially advocacy for social justice and practicing with integrity. While therapists may not always share their personal beliefs in session, we all have an ethical responsibility to examine our own implicit biases and belief systems.
