About My Clients
Struggling with perfectionism or an overly critical inner dialogue? Maybe you feel the need to keep tabs on everything, try and control yourself, your environment, your feelings or carry an unreasonable amount of responsibility for things outside of your control. Most of my clients are burnt out by constant worries and what ifs. They had de-centered their own experience and well being in hopes of protecting against others' reactions.
My Background and Approach
As an Internal Family Systems (IFS)-informed therapist, I offer a non-pathologizing, compassionate approach grounded in the belief that we are all doing our best, often with strategies that once kept us safe or met our needs. Collaboratively, we can explore whether those strategies still serve you and create space for new, empowered choices in how you relate to yourself and the world. Therapy with me is relational, supportive and direct. It won’t always be comfortable AND you will be held with care and respect through it. As a mindfulness-based clinician, we will work together to increase your awareness, to expand choice, and build up strategies to move through discomfort. My work focuses on helping you reclaim your agency with courage, soften into your experience (not resist it), and build a caring relationship with all parts of yourself.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe in a trauma-informed approach that views clients through various lenses, and considers social, cultural, and systematic influences. I offer an inclusive space that explores how identity, oppression, and/or marginalization plays a role in one’s perception of themselves and their outlook on healing and recovery.
