Most of my clinical experience has been working with adolescents, young adults, and adults with substance use disorders. I am an expert in substance misuse, relapse prevention, and recovery management. I also use Motivational Enhancement Therapy, an evidence based practice that is effective for people struggling misuse who are thinking about getting into a recovery lifestyle. I operate from the Recovery Management perspective, and focus on recovery as a lifestyle versus sobriety alone.

I am extensively trained in Schema Therapy, which has been shown to be effective with personality disorders and chronic emotional disorders. Schema Therapy involves looking at unmet needs in early childhood that led to maladaptive core beliefs, and how those core beliefs are negatively impacting the present. Schema Therapy aims to change core beliefs into more effective ones to accomplish current goals and enjoy life in general.

I am a Certified Trauma Resolution Energy Therapy (TRET) Practitioner, a therapy that focuses on healing energy related to past and current traumas in the realms of mind, body, and spirit. TRET initially focuses on reducing the emotional charge, or energy, associated with the root causes of current problems. Over time, TRET fosters holistic healing through the mind-body connection by replacing emotionally charged energy with new positive core beliefs.

I am a Licensed Addiction Counselor and Advanced Alcohol and Drug Counselor. My training, and the bulk of my clinical experience, has focused on substance use disorders and the treatments associated with them. I use Motivational Enhancement Therapy and Recovery Management to assist clients who are trying to engage in a recovery lifestyle by focusing on tangible behaviors and cognitive restructuring to make substance use less salient in a client's life.
