About My Clients
My ideal client is a highly ambitious teen, college student, or professional Black woman in Virginia who desires to reclaim control from anxiety and live boldly with purpose. They seek a therapist who is real, relatable, and responsive to their needs, infusing the therapy room with fun and excitement. Additionally, they appreciate being gracefully challenged to redefine self-care and prioritize their own well-being alongside their responsibilities to others.
My Background and Approach
My approach to therapy is integrative and wholistic. I infuse traditional talk therapy with mind-body therapies such as EMDR, yoga, mindfulness, play and expressive arts. I'm all about getting to know you and your story. From there, clients can expect to gain insights into their inner feelings and deeply rooted challenges, develop practical coping strategies, and maintain healthy relationships across work, school, and home. They'll uncover new perspectives and tools to manage stress and anxiety and recover from past traumas, all within a supportive and nurturing environment fostering growth and wholistic well-being.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I enjoy providing my clients with tools and strategies that strengthen mental health literacy and enhance body-mind-spirit wellness, which I believe is necessary to live happy, healthy, and fulfilling lives. I hold certifications in trauma, integrative mental health, African-centered social work, and equity, diversity, and inclusion. I am also a 200-hour Certified Yoga Instructor. I believe in public servitude and give back to my community through active participation in organizations such as The National Association of Black Social Workers, Richmond Association of Black Social Workers, and the Virginia Association of School Social Workers-Richmond Region.
