About My Clients
I work mostly with individuals between the ages of 21-35 years. Most of my clients I assist with working through and coping with life stress, anxiety, and depression. I also work with mothers who may have difficulties managing stress due to home/work responsibilities. I enjoy working with individuals who are trying to navigate life a little better.
My Background and Approach
I have worked in a non profit agency for about 10 years when I started my private practice. My knowledge of different resources and operations within the mental health system has created a great foundation for my practice. My approach is utilizing DBT skills to assist with coping with current symptoms. I like to provide a "toolbox" of skills for clients to work on between sessions. I also am very adamant about the body/mind connection and encourage a healthy lifestyle as a way to gain mental wellness. You ever hear "you are what you eat?" Well, I believe you feel what you eat. You eat crap you may feel good in the short term, but you'll feel like crap in the long term.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that one can live a life of balance. It's important for individuals to identify and acknowledge success, but want change at the same time. Acceptance and change can live comfortably together. You don't have to choose.
