Anxiety is a very common issue that individuals suffer from. I use a combination of modalities to treat anxiety symptoms, mainly Cognitive Behavior Therapy techniques. With these techniques, individuals will learn how to challenge and reframe negative thoughts, develop and strengthen relaxation techniques, and explore exposure/systemic desensitization techniques.

Treating depression takes time and commitment. I work with individuals to strengthen the many different facets of life including sleep hygiene, nutrition, social supports, primary care and medication management referrals, interpersonal skills, and stress reduction techniques.

Cognitive behavioral therapy is a psycho-social intervention that aims to improve mental health. CBT focuses on challenging and changing cognitive distortions and behaviors, improving emotional regulation, and the development of personal coping strategies that target solving current problems.

Dialectical behavior therapy is an evidence-based psychotherapy that began with efforts to treat borderline personality disorder. There is evidence that DBT can be useful in treating mood disorders, suicidal ideation, and for change in behavioral patterns such as self-harm and substance abuse.

Emotionally focused therapy and emotion-focused therapy are a family of related approaches to psychotherapy with individuals, couples, or families. EFT approaches include elements of experiential therapy, systemic therapy, and attachment theory. EFT is usually a short-term treatment.

Person-centered therapy, also known as person-centered psychotherapy, person-centered counseling, client-centered therapy and Rogerian psychotherapy, is a form of psychotherapy developed by psychologist Carl Rogers beginning in the 1940s and extending into the 1980s.

Teens are facing mental health issues at a growing rate. It is important to normalize seeking help for these issues. I work with teens and pre-teens to address these issues in a variety of different ways that make sense to them.
