About My Clients
Being human can be incredibly difficult. It can also be incredibly beautiful. Do you find yourself losing sight of the beautiful parts? Is your inner critic the loudest voice in your head? Are you feeling overwhelmed by your emotions or stuck? I work with clients experiencing depression, anxiety, and difficulty with their self-esteem to overcome these experiences and build a life that is more satisfying and in line with their values.
My Background and Approach
I aim to provide a nonjudgmental and supportive space for you to identify what you’d like from your life, and how to get there. I have extensive experience providing CBT and DBT services. Which means I have a wide range of coping tools that we can explore together. I work with clients to increase their self compassion, identify their personal strengths, and interact with their environment more effectively. I also help clients learn new coping tools when they want to do things differently. I have I have experience working with adolescents, and adults of diverse genders, sexual orientations, racial backgrounds, and religions. I work primarily with people experiencing symptoms of depression, various types of anxiety, negative thinking patterns, and difficulty with self-esteem.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I strive to apply feminist and anti-racist principles in my approach to therapy. I am aware that many difficulties with mental health are compounded by involvement in oppressive systems. I do not believe that anyone is broken. I believe that people are doing the best they can in any given moment given their situation and resources. I also believe that people are capable of change and learning new ways to engage.
