About My Clients
I work with ND youth and adults. I am an LGBTQ-affirming therapist that support individuals of all genders and sexual orientations to feel more connected to themselves, partners, friends & community. I provide a open space to talk about issues related to gender identity and sexuality. Counseling for children and teens is a strength & passion of mine. I have found success connecting with youth in these cases to help them reach their personal goals while also helping the family unit heal.
My Background and Approach
I recognize the variety of ways in which emotions impact our lives. I offer expertise in mindfulness-based skill building, cognitive behavioral therapy, ICBT for OCD, dialectical behavioral therapy, supportive psychotherapy, trauma informed treatment, and Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR) Therapy when appropriate. I have extensive training and experience in working with neurodigvergent individuals with ADHD, autism, OCD, etc. I work with caregivers, youth and families, members of the LGBTQ+ community, and individuals struggling with anxiety & depression As a counselor, I value flexibility, creativity, and individualized experiences for each person seeking support. I like to combine concrete tools with introspection and growth to assist individuals in reaching their treatment goals. Telehealth and in-office available.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
My passion for counseling comes from my own experience in receiving counseling support that was both affirming and life-changing. I know first hand what living with anxiety and ADHD is like and the many facets of support that are needed to address this concern. As a working mom and a member of the LGBTQ+ community, my passion for social justice, equality, and affirmative experiences for individuals carries over to my counseling practice.
