About My Clients
Do you struggle with anxiety, depression, trauma, shame, phobias, or grief? Are symptoms interfering with living your best life? Is it challenging to set boundaries and communicate clearly in relationships? Maybe previous therapy hasn't helped and you are curious about trying Accelerated Resolution Therapy? Are you ready to truly heal from trauma instead of compartmentalizing? Are you ready to learn how to manage difficult emotions rather than be overwhelmed or ruled by them?
My Background and Approach
I use evidence-based interventions, primarily Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) Mindfulness-Based Therapy and Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART). I've seen the most significant results with ART, an eye-movement protocol (like EMDR) that does not require you to disclose details of your trauma. With ART, your brain reprocesses memories, helping to reduce the emotional intensity associated with negative or traumatic experiences. ART also helps you identify and change negative thought patterns that may be contributing to your distress, empowering you to develop healthier coping strategies. ART aims to provide long-term relief by addressing the root causes of distress. Single-incident events are often resolved in 1-2 sessions. More chronic or complicated issues usually resolve within 5 sessions. *Please note in-person sessions are available on Mondays and Thursdays only.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I'm a naturally intuitive and empathetic person who genuinely enjoys hearing your story. I aim to create a safe space for you to explore your feelings, make sense of your experiences, heal from trauma and learn tools to manage life's challenges more effectively. My goal is to help you find a balance between acceptance and change. I want you to accept yourself and your emotions as they are while simultaneously recognizing the need for change and growth. You don't need to change your SELF, rather your patterns that contribute to painful symptoms. Developing self-compassion is crucial. Self-compassion involves treating oneself with kindness, understanding, and acceptance, especially during difficult times. I am an advocate for diversity, equity and inclusion for all. I am LGBTQIA+ affirming. I'm continuously learning and doing my own growth work so I can show up as the most authentic version of myself.
