About My Clients
Though I serve a very diverse population of clients, my ideal client is one who fits into any of the three categories of: trauma, military or neurodiversity. Surprisingly enough, many of these traits overlap, so I have made it my professional goal to grow extensive knowledge in all three.
My Background and Approach
I have a variety of approaches I use depending on the client. First and foremost, my initial approach is through a trauma focused lense: meaning, I treat my clients with the understanding of the impact of trauma they have been through, being sensitive to their specific needs. More specifically, I am trained in CPT (Cognitive Processing Therapy) as well as TF-CBT (Trauma Focused CBT) which are primarily used to assist clients in processing specific traumatic events. For my neurodiverse individuals, I take a strength based approach and focus on specific needs such as emotional regulation, problem solving, communication skills, etc. We'll address internal vs external stressors, the brain's fear response system, and ways to flourish in a neurotypical world.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that every individual who I have the privilege of holding space for, comes with a story that is unique to them. I strongly believe in self advocacy and empowering people to accept themselves as they are. I was unaware of my neurodiverse qualities because they've always been labeled as something negative (sensitive, soft, dramatic, etc.). Once I began exploring this population, I felt accepted and no longer broken. My hope is to pass on that same empowerment to others and help them find what makes them amazing and worth loving. I am an open book and genuinely care about creating the space needed to help my clients grow through self discovery.
