About My Clients
I am particularly interested in themes around exploring identity, life transitions, and relationships with young adults. I use a blend of different modalities to best address what comes up for you. Other areas I can support with are feeling "stuck", burnout, building insight, clarifying values, and managing symptoms of anxiety and/or depression.
My Background and Approach
I use an eclectic approach, being trained psychodynamically while also equipped with experience in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and EMDR. I practice with a relational, feminist, and client centered lens and am flexible and creative around what will align best with your needs. I will listen deeply and with presence to create a healing space along with sharing practical ways to manage any symptoms or challenges you may be having. Tending to your mental health and prioritizing time for yourself in therapy are brave moves. I look forward to exploring more with you.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I identify as a woman of color, Filipina-Japanese American, and 2nd generation. I yearned to see people who looked like me in the media and helping professions/schools without ever being able to name it until later in life. I was born CA in the south bay area and have lived in Oakland, New York, and Chile. My identity, upbringing, and learnings inform my practice and my worldview. Awareness of my privileges and checking them are an ongoing process that I actively work to challenge in my inner work. Social justice and being a social worker are foundational to my work and purpose.
