Accepting Clients

Hey, I'm Ashley! I am an LCSW and a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional, Level 2 in NYS with 12 years of experience.

Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Penn Yan, NY

About My Clients

Chronic stress, trauma, adversity and loss can leave us feeling out of control of our mind, body and emotions. The brain's main function is to keep us alive and when an incident or ongoing circumstances pose a threat to us our brain can engage in some really intense strategies (and not usually healthy ones!) This can leave us feeling completely out of control. The holistic and regulation- strategies we use in treatment have left clients feeling more in charge of their wellbeing.

My Background and Approach

I offer a safe space to begin or continue your healing journey for anyone seeking services & support. I am an LCSW and a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional, Level II in NYS with over 12 years of experience supporting survivors of trauma, adversity or chronic stress. I am also certified in the neurosequential model of therapeutics, and I am an experienced clinical supervisor and trainer. In addition to supporting clients I have spent much of my career mentoring and supporting other mental health professionals in support of best practice and navigating the impact of the work. I believe collective healing is crucial for our communities and have supported many multi-disciplinary treatment teams. I utilize a holistic, healing centered and individualized approach with everyone that I work with. I focus on interpersonal neurobiology and fostering resilience by building on each person's unique strengths so you can reach your goals.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I believe that all human beings are products of lived experience and when adversity is part of that experience our development and neurobiology is impacted. The stress response is the first thing to develop in utero and continues throughout childhood which determines your unique window of tolerance to distress. The severity of the Impact of events can be calculated by evaluating relational health at the time of adversity. I believe that mental health services and supports should be available for everyone and I know the data supports the stance that epigenetics, racial trauma and generational trauma are real and impactful to development and current reactions to circumstance. I also believe that trauma, abuse and adversity are never your fault AND only you can decide to start your healing journey.
