About My Clients
I specialize in working with kids, teens, and young adults who are looking for change. I work best with clients who are willing to learn skills to manage the difficult thoughts/feelings that arise from anxiety; depression; school, work, or social stress; or the pressures of being a young person today. My clients are looking for lasting change and tools to help them live a life that matters to them. I also work with caregivers who need help supporting their child/teen with these issues.
My Background and Approach
I completed my doctoral training at Illinois State University and clinical pre-doctoral internship in pediatric psychology and integrated care at the Munroe-Meyer Institute at the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha. I have worked with a variety of conditions, including anxiety (including OCD), depression and low self-esteem, attention concerns, school stressors, peer/social difficulties, and challenges with emotional and behavioral regulation. I believe collaboration across providers is an essential part of treatment, and my past work in a variety of settings (e.g., schools, hospitals, pediatric primary care clinics) has given me the experience to effectively consult with all members of a client's care team. For caregivers, I am also trained in SPACE therapy, which allows me to work with caregivers to treat their child or teen's anxiety.
