About My Clients
I work with adults who are looking to process childhood trauma, explore complex family dynamics and rebuild their sense of self. EMDR stands for Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing. When trauma occurs, our brain does not properly process traumatic memories, leading to distress and other symptoms that may impair aspects of our lives. The goal of EMDR is to reprocess traumatic memories using our brain's natural healing process so the memories become less distressing.
My Background and Approach
I am trained in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), motivational interviewing, CBT and mindfulness. I utilize an eclectic approach of different evidence based practices while incorporating humor, appropriate self disclosure, authenticity and creativity to find an individualized approach that works best for you.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I am passionate about working with adults experiencing anxiety, trauma and LGBTQ+ issues. My goal is to create a welcoming and affirming environment where trust and safety are the foundation of our sessions. We will work to identify and validate emotions, explore unmet needs and build your confidence. I look forward to meeting you!
