About My Clients
I work with adults who often look like they’re holding everything together while feeling overwhelmed inside. Many come to therapy with anxiety, ADHD, relationship concerns, burnout, people-pleasing, emotional overwhelm, or life transitions. I also welcome adults exploring identity, sexuality, intimacy, and diverse relationship structures. You don’t need to have everything figured out. We can start with what’s happening now and work from there.
My Background and Approach
I’m Ashley Kitchen-Sweet, LMHC in Massachusetts and LCMHC in Vermont, with more than 10 years of experience in mental health. I hold a Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. My approach is warm, direct, practical, and collaborative. CBT is a primary focus, but I draw from a variety of therapeutic techniques and adapt our work to your needs and goals. I work with adults navigating anxiety, ADHD, relationships, burnout, emotional overwhelm, life transitions, and more. I also offer affirming support around identity, sexuality, intimacy, and diverse relationship structures. My goal is to help you feel understood while also giving you practical tools you can use in real life.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe people deserve to be understood as whole people, not reduced to a diagnosis, a problem, or a checklist. I value curiosity over assumptions, compassion without judgment, and the freedom to talk honestly about the parts of life that can be complicated or hard to explain. I believe clients should have a voice in their therapy and that shared decision-making matters. I also believe therapy can be both serious and human, with room for humor when it fits. I value affirming care for people of all identities, sexual orientations, gender identities, cultural backgrounds, and relationship structures. Outside the therapy room, I’m a big reader, and I appreciate the messy, layered stories that make people who they are.
