About My Clients
People typically reach out for therapy when they feel overwhelmed, stressed, or stuck. We work together to identify what is keeping you from living the life you want. I can help you re-focus the direction you want your life to go, take control of what will move you in that direction, and build tangible skills for how to handle the inevitable bumps in the road! I work with adult clients who have a wide-variety of concerns ranging from relational concerns to psychosis.
My Background and Approach
I completed an APA-accredited internship at South Florida State Hospital and went on to complete my postdoctoral training at Augusta University/East Central Regional Hospital. I have worked in a variety of settings, including Inpatient Psychiatric Hospitals, Acute Treatment and Crisis Stabilization Units, Long-Term Care and Rehabilitation Centers, Residential Treatment programs, University Counseling centers, and Intensive Outpatient Substance Abuse programs. Additionally, I have experience in Forensic Psychology and conducting NGRI risk assessments and Competency Evaluations.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that if we can identify what in our lives is causing a disconnect between where we are and where we want to be, we are better equipped to choose the direction we want to go and build a more fulfilling life. Therapy isn't cut and paste for everyone. We are all unique and therapy should be the same. We can work together to identify what is keeping you stuck and keeping you from living the life that would make you feel more complete and satisfied. In my free time, I love hiking, practicing yoga, fostering animals, gardening, traveling and reading. I enjoy both adventures and being a homebody, so I completely understand the need to identify a healthy balance in our lives! I work part time at an Acute Treatment Unit and Crisis Stabilization, so we can coordinate if higher levels of care are needed. I am also happy to collaborate and help build connection with medication providers if needed, and desired.
