About My Clients
Those experiencing the debilitating effects of trauma, depression, and anxiety often feel lost and overwhelmed when seeking help and support. This distress is compounded by systemic and societal oppression and repression, inhibiting access to supportive people. I am excited to offer you a safe, intersectional space to acknowledge, process, and move forward so that your life no longer feels defined or constrained by your experiences.
My Background and Approach
I am a person-centered, trauma-informed therapist passionate about creating a safe, empathetic counseling space. I am trained in EMDR, which I use in conjunction with mindfulness, somatic and polyvagal regulation, and cognitive-based interventions to help you increase feelings of control and ability to cope with distress.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I operate from an intersectional perspective strongly influenced by feminist theory. I view people as inherently worthy just as they are and believe that we are the ones who know ourselves best. I am an ally always willing to learn and be held accountable, as I know that the journey to being culturally sensitive and informed is never over.
