About My Clients
My clients are adults making sense of ADHD or autism, new or long-suspected, plus teens and the parents raising them, or couples and partners working through a diagnosis together. Most arrive after years of being told to try harder, feeling like everyone else was handed an operating manual they never got, or after a diagnosis reframed a lot of their personal stories.
My Background and Approach
I started as a Parent Partner at Family Health Centers of San Diego, sitting next to parents in IEP meetings and clinical appointments before I was ever the one running the session. From there I moved into school-based therapy with San Diego Unified students, then into wraparound and trauma work with families navigating housing instability and domestic violence recovery. Along the way I noticed how not much support was built with neurodivergent people in mind — professionally, and personally: I was diagnosed with ADHD as an adult, and there's a lot about autism that resonates with me too. Clinically, I draw on CBT adapted for neurodivergent thinkers, family-systems and couples-focused work, and nervous-system regulation.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I don't believe ADHD or autism are things to fix. They're a different way of being wired, and most of the struggle comes from the mismatch between that wiring and what the world expects, not from something being wrong with the person. My work is about making that easier to live with, with practical strategies built around how you actually think, and a deeper understanding of yourself. A lot of the people I work with are also carrying something heavier than what brought them to therapy on paper: grief, anger, or exhaustion about the state of the world. I feel it too. I'm a Racial Justice, LGBTQ+, Immigrant, and Trans ally and activist, and I believe, now more than ever, that the world outside can and should be talked about in therapy.
