I use a broad range of evidence-based, culturally-informed practices to create safe, authentic relationships with my clients. I specialize in working with parents, caregivers, health care providers, and individuals looking to treat depression, anxiety and trauma. Together, wherever you are on your journey, we will learn skills to cope, find your inner strength, and overcome challenges to help you to make changes you are seeking in your life that contribute to a healthy mind and body.
My Background and Approach
I am a graduate from University of St. Thomas, PsyD in Counseling Psychology, which emphasizes evidence-based treatments and building strong, collaborative therapeutic relationships. I integrate the clinical application of Polyvagal Theory, developed by Stephen Porges and Deb Dana, which offers a guide to the inner workings of the autonomic nervous system and strategies for working with it. We will explore the role of the vagus nerve in emotion regulation, social connection, and fear/stress response as it relates to health challenges, grief/loss, challenges with parenting/caregiving, depression, anxiety, and trauma. Additionally, I am experienced at integrating principles and interventions from Internal Family Systems, Trauma-Focused Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Mind-Body Interventions. I am also a certified Good Inside parent coach, specializing in teaching skills, support parents, and reduce stress and navigate challenges with parenting.
