I completed a post-grad program at Denver Family Institute that resulted in a certificate in Marriage/Couples and Family Therapy. During my 3.5 years at Denver Family Institute, I received instruction on a variety of attachment theories. I have worked with many clients over my 6 years as a therapist, using attachment theories to help them understand themselves and others by thoughtfully examining behaviors and reflecting on both past and present, significant relationships.

Life is full of transitions and I have supported clients in navigating transitions through different stages of life, identity transitions, break-ups, new beginnings and everything in between.

While doing this work, I like to draw from the enneagram, attachment theories, understanding the ego, drawing from one's values, narrative therapy and person-centered therapy just to name a few. I also use Prepare and Enrich to support couples with premarital therapy.

When starting with most couples, I have them complete a Gottman Relationship Check-up assessment to help me understand, which areas in the relationship are the most pressing. From there I educate my clients on Gottman's 4 Horsemen as it relates to communication in conflict, Love Maps to help build emotional intimacy, Bids for Connection to help them understand when and how to reach for one another, as well as many other Gottman principles to help foster effective communication and intimacy.
