About My Clients
Dr. Foresman works to provide a supportive, non-judgmental and understanding environment, building a positive rapport and sense of trust. She will work to guide you in allowing yourself to be open and vulnerable in an effort to explore your concerns at a deeper level. Together you will work together to better understand the underlying issues creating disruption in your daily functioning and initiate lasting change. Dr. Foresman works to help individuals gain a better understanding of themselves.
My Background and Approach
Dr. Foresman pulls from her psychodynamically-oriented training and incorporates elements of interpersonal psychotherapy, motivational interviewing, cognitive-behavioral strategies as well as mindfulness techniques into her work. Her work is client-focused and she works to cater therapy to each individuals needs, meeting where they are at that time. She works to help individuals gain a better understanding of themselves, what motivates their actions and relationship styles in an effort to work towards positive change. Dr. Foresman has experience working with a diverse client population and takes pride in providing a safe space for POC and LGBTQ+ individuals. Dr. Foresman graduated with a B.S. in Psychology from Virginia Tech in 2008, completed her Masters and Doctoral Degree in Clinical Psychology at The George Washington University, graduating in August 2012. Dr. Foresman then completed her training with a post-doc at the University of Virginia.
