About My Clients
Clients contact me with a variety of needs. Many have never been in therapy or have had negative experiences with therapists who they feel didn't listen or adequately address their concerns. Clients seek care with me due to my compassionate approach and the safe space that I provide where they can finally feel accepted and heard. I have experience using multiple evidence based modalities, think outside the box to tailor care to meet specific needs/desires, and provide many coping skills to help
My Background and Approach
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Licensed Clinical Addiction Specialist. I have 20 years of experience working in the mental health and human services field with children, adolescents, adults, and older adults in home, community, and office settings. I have experience working with clients with dual diagnoses and complex recovery needs. I use evidence based practices and tailor therapeutic modalities used to specific client needs. I primarily use the therapeutic modalities of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, mindfulness based interventions, Solution Focused Therapy, etc. I have experience in the areas of crisis management, psychotherapy, case management, trauma treatment, addiction treatment, group therapy, family and couples therapy, grief counseling, clinical assessment, inpatient and intensive outpatient therapies, and supporting clients with LGBTQIA+, sexual health and medical needs.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I am passionate about supporting clients in their recovery journeys from mental health and alcohol or substance use disorders. I enjoy working with the LGBTQIA+ community and individuals who are neurodivergent or autistic. I believe strongly in social justice and fighting for human rights for people of all gender, racial, ethnic, cultural, spiritual, and sexual orientation backgrounds. I am sex-positive and work with individuals in non-traditional relationships or employed in sex work vocations. I have experience working with clients transitioning, exploring their sexuality, gender identity, and/or exploring sexual wellness needs. I provide an affirming space for clients who are LGBTQIA+, autistic, or neurodivergent, have experienced religious trauma, chronic health conditions, caring for others, loss in their life, or are seeking acknowledgment and acceptance.
