About My Clients
Are You Feeling Stuck? Are you searching for a way to process and manage your daily stress and interpersonal conflicts? Do you notice that you continue to repeat the same patterns of behaviors even when those behaviors are not serving you? Asking for help can be a difficult first step toward the positive change you are seeking, and I commend the courage you have for taking this step.
My Background and Approach
As your therapist, I will partner with you in your journey in being comfortable with the uncomfortable. I provide a collaborative approach utilizing EMDR, Solution Focused, Cognitive Behavioral, Humanistic, and various therapeutic techniques. My approach is to help you identify deeply rooted patterns of thoughts and behaviors, connecting them to their presence in current situations, helping you develop healthy coping strategies, creating a deeper understanding of how thoughts and feelings impact daily functioning. I am trained in EMDR, which is considered one of the most effective forms of therapy in processing traumatic and/or disturbing memories. EMDR is effective in treating a wide range of disorders. EMDR works by accessing and processing traumatic or disturbing memories, bringing them to an adaptive resolution. After a successful treatment of EMDR, affective distress of the memories is relieved, negative beliefs are reformulated, and physiological arousal is reduced.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
Let’s work together to start your path to healing. I individualize my therapeutic approach to fit the needs of each person I work with. I offer a safe, non-judgmental space where one can be empowered to work toward change. I believe that each individual has the power to own their process toward change. I focus largely upon client responsibility in therapy, building a relationship with clients, creating a nurturing environment conducive to change, exploration of past events and how they continue to affect you today, analysis of underlying belief systems and their relation to inadequate functioning or hindrance to change, and implementation of specific emotional, cognitive, and behavioral techniques designed to aid in change toward specified goals.
