About My Clients
My clients are a diverse mix of teens and adults who want to feel better in their own skin and break free from frustrating, exhausting relationships with their bodies and food. My clients are open to exploring different parts of themselves and past influences on their current feelings about their bodies. My clients are open and receptive.
My Background and Approach
I have over 15 years experience helping people recover from their eating disorder, disordered eating, and/or negative body image. I also have extensive experience treating depression, anxiety, and trauma symptoms. I approach therapy through using parts work (Internal Family Systems, or IFS) and eye-movement/visualization therapy (Accelerated Resolution Therapy, or ART). In sessions with me, you will also learn how to regulate your emotions by using somatic practices (ways to calm your body and mind).
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I am very passionate about providing a safe, welcoming, warm space for you to experience therapy. I operate from a HAES (Health At Every Size) perspective and work hard to fight against fat phobia, weight discrimination, and weight/appearance stigma. I believe in the ability to change and become a better version of yourself. I also have lived experience with depression and have recovered from an eating disorder as well. I never thought I could or would recover from my eating disorder, but I did! So, I want to provide that hope to others and tell all who will listen that IT IS POSSIBLE to break free from disordered eating, self-loathing, and body hatred. Mental health symptoms or struggles do not have to run your life!
