About My Clients

Life is full of unanswered questions. Questions about ourselves like why do I act and feel the way I do? Who am I really? What am I doing with my life? These questions can show up as anxiety, anger, or self-doubt. If you're struggling with the "why" behind what you're going through, that's where our work together can help. My role as your therapist is to support you through the "how" of moving forward.

My Background and Approach

My style focuses on getting to root causes of the problem and the development of self. I help my clients learn about their body and its reactions to life’s stressors; how to regulate their emotions and increase tolerance for discomfort; and the role of choice in their lives. We develop coping skills and new ways of thinking in finding meaning in their suffering. I provide an open and safe space for us to explore why you feel the way you do and how your past may be contributing to your present. We will consider all angles of your lived experience in making sense of the issues you’re facing. Angles like your relationships to others, your childhood experiences, instincts & gut reactions, and societal systems.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I believe all human experience comes from legitimate motivations. Motivations may come from our human evolution, early childhood experiences, biology, or elsewhere. By radically accepting parts of ourselves and our lived experiences, we open the door to a productive path forward. Through my academic studies and clinical work, I believe there are fundamental differences between biological men and women. Research supports observable differences in fear processing, bonding, emotionality, and perception. My clinical approach integrates this knowledge, but this knowledge isn't the whole story. I treat people of all gender and sexual identities, regardless of sex assigned at birth. I welcome clients of any and all identities and believe all humans deserve empathy and compassion.

I offer online counseling in the following states:
