My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I have over 20 years of clinical experience across a variety of settings, including inpatient and outpatient mental health and substance abuse treatment, hospice, managed care, case management, psychiatric emergency services, crisis intervention, non-profits, and private practice. I continue to seek out training to stay up-to-date with new therapeutic interventions and methods. I have a broad range of clinical experience working with individuals, couples, families, and groups. I emphasize the mutual development of goals for therapy with clients and the ongoing evaluation of the appropriate therapeutic approach. I am trained in cognitive behavioral therapy, solution-focused therapy, and crisis intervention. I am invested in using an approach that emphasizes a more integrative, dynamic, and holistic approach to mental health that is tailored for each client. I am particularly concerned with the impact of loss and trauma and improving interventions to support trauma recovery.
