About My Clients
I've had the honor of working as a therapist since 2011 providing services to individuals, children, teens, adults, couples and families. My professional experience includes providing therapy for survivors of trauma (domestic violence, community violence, abuse, etc), working with anxiety disorders, helping to process phase of life issues, LGBTQ topics. My expertise lies in couples counseling, anxiety, and trauma. I love providing therapy!
My Background and Approach
I utilize Cognitive Behavioral coping strategies, utilize attachment theory, and solution focused/strength-based approach to help you gain relief and build on existing strengths. I'm here to create a safe, judgment free place for you to share your life experience with me. I want to help you gain control of your life and rid yourself of unwanted symptoms.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that everyone needs therapy and should experience therapy at least one time in their life. I was diagnosed with anxiety in 2010 and gained a greater understanding about my experience and symptoms through my own therapy. I continue to see a therapist regularly as I believe my own mental health is important in being able to help others. As a biracial clinician (Mexican and White), I understand the feeling of not fitting in with any specific group and having to explore my racial identity in America. I pride myself on working to be a culturally competent therapist day in and day out, learning just as much from my clients as they feel they might learn from me. I hope to make therapy a positive experience that will assist in continued growth over a lifetime.
