About My Clients

I work with adults individually and in couples therapy. With children and adolescents, I practice a combination of play and talk therapy. Whether working with people individually, people in relationships, or groups, I attune to the connections between what is personally felt and what is collectively shared.

My Background and Approach

I work with adults individually and in couples therapy. I practice psychodynamically, approaching therapy as an active and collaborative process that supports you to connect with your desires. Together, we untangle social and emotional knots: conflicts that take form in your relationships with other people and within yourself. We ask honest questions and embrace new possibilities for being, doing and becoming. Over time, we attend to the roots of struggles to bring about meaningful connections and change. With children and adolescents, I practice a combination of play and talk therapy. In the therapy room, we find language for experiences that are difficult to describe through words, images, objects, and our bodies. We find ways to communicate and understand difficult experiences, anxieties, and worries. I meet with caregivers on a regular basis that we will determine together during an initial consultation period. Before becoming a therapist, I worked for many years as an educator.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

Whether working one-on-one, with people in relationships, in groups, or in institutions, I attune to the connections between what is personally felt and what is collectively shared. I am sensitive to the ways that race, power, and violence shape our social and emotional lives. My practice is guided by deep respect for all the parts of your experience, including those that may be difficult to put into words or categories. I am also guided by anti-carceral political commitments and by my training in psychoanalysis, gender and sexuality, and end-of-life care. In addition to working in a private group practice and in schools, I also practice and organize with Free Clinic NYC.
