About My Clients
My clients have a desire to know themselves in a deeper way. In therapy we create a space and dedicated time to pay attention to what changes may be trying to occur in your life, both internally and externally. We will look to the past to attend to neglected pain, and nurture new possibilities for the future. Much of our pain is not just individual, but is connected to our collective and ancestral histories. Acknowledging this larger context can help bring insight, compassion, and belonging.
My Background and Approach
I use an intuitive, relational, depth-oriented, and trauma informed approach pulling from twenty years of combined experience in social work, depth psychology, and the personal study of different wisdom and mystical traditions. I’m primarily trained in the analytical psychology of Carl G Jung as I find it to be a psychology that is wide and deep enough for the complexity of a human life. Each therapy is completely different as it is tailored to each unique person. This is what I love – it honors our unique histories, personality, wounds, strengths, and destiny. In general I will encourage you to share as openly and honestly as possible about yourself and your experiences, including your emotions, concerns, regrets, fantasies, fears, and dreams. Sharing night dreams can be an important and powerful aspect of therapy as it is an incredibly helpful bridge to the personal and collective unconscious, where much needed information, history, the dead/ancestors, and feelings are stored.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
Working with people over the last 20 years as a social worker and therapist has confirmed a number of deeply held convictions: the more we know ourselves the more we can know and love others; our capacity to love is infinite, and that; often what has caused us pain, when confronted, can be what helps us become whole again. I’m grateful to have this vocation and the opportunity to commit myself to the life long study of the human soul and spirit.
