About My Clients
Many of the folks I work with are navigating challenges related to their sense of self and relational life. My clients often start therapy feeling anxious in their relationships, lonely or disconnected from themselves, an internal pressure to be perfect or to mask their true feelings, and challenges related to being queer person in the south.
My Background and Approach
I take a trauma informed, person centered approach to therapy. I'm focused on therapy being a collaborative process. The methods I pull from help my clients to understand themselves more intimately, heal past wounds that are keeping them stuck, and build a life that feels truly meaningful. These approaches are parts work, narrative therapy, and acceptance and commitment therapy. Together we will work to build self-compassion and self-acceptance, identify and rewrite negative core beliefs about yourself, understand and embrace your identity in ways that feel authentic to you, and increase the ability to be mindful and present with yourself and with those around you.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
Who I am as a therapist is a blend of warmth, directness, non-judgement, and compassion. I’ll invite you to explore not only your pains and anxieties but help you connect to your values, joys, and hope in your life. As your therapist, I am a fellow traveler alongside you toward relational healing - helping you make sense of your unique life experiences, understand yourself on a deeper level, and find clear paths forward. I show up to sessions with not only education and training but as my true self- an authentic human that you can connect with and trust cares about you and your journey. I wholeheartedly believe that relationships are the cornerstone of our lives- shaping our well-being, growth, and overall happiness- and I’m passionate about helping you create strong, fulfilling relationships to not only the people around you but to yourself.
