About My Clients
If you are living a life tormented by worrying about what others think of you, an inability to relax, and/or a negative view of yourself-I'd love to help you. These are common concerns that I see in the young adults in my practice and fortunately, very treatable. I enjoy working with clients who feel ready and committed to making positive changes in their lives.
My Background and Approach
I use a combination of traditional talk therapy with experiential techniques from various evidenced based therapies. My approach is directive, warm, compassionate, and emotion focused. I've been trained in psychodynamic theory as well as somatic techniques to therapy. My work focuses on getting at the root of your issues, so that you have long-lasting, deep change. We will become aware of patterned thinking and behaving through moment-to moment tracking, often called mindfulness. I will help you connect to your body so that we can increase awareness of the automatic stories it holds and change unwanted responses. My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I have a very positive outlook "problems." While our issues might be super frustrating to us, and of course, causing us pain- I view them as having developed for good reason. I don't think our mind is trying to trick us and I make it a point to clients that in order to heal, we must compassionately understand ourselves. I also believe that emotions are something to not just be talked about, but to be really felt through to completion in order to transform. I value being a student of life, constantly learning in this field and employing researched techniques to support my clients.
