About My Clients
I have experience working with individuals who have endured various types of grief, trauma, homelessness and many daily life challenges. I have worked with populations from a variety of different groups ranging from teens, young adults to older adults and a large majority of them being from lower-income, disadvantaged areas. Being from this population and going through it firsthand has allowed me to advocate heavily for the importance of mental health care accessibility to all groups.
My Background and Approach
My professional approach in counseling is based on Carl Rogers’ Person-Centered model. I believe that all clients deserve empathy and unconditional positive regard from me, to walk with them on this journey as they begin to see and reach their fullest potential. The client is the expert on their own life and my role is to join them on this adventure through the aspects they may not have been able to explore yet.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I am passionate and stand firm in the belief that all people deserve love, good things, and nonjudgmental counseling and I am comfortable working with all groups. I am a strong ally of the LGBT+ community and all marginalized groups and have experience with a large majority of them. I do offer a sliding scale fee for individuals struggling financially or do not have insurance, I feel this is vital to keep counseling inclusive for all people.
