About My Clients
I work with individual adults, teens and couples. You are welcome here, just as you are. I begin working with my clients to find present relief from the painful symptoms they experience, and also focus on finding the root cause of of these, so there can be lasting transformation and healing. I am here to partner with you in the messy, intentional, and deep work of finding your true self, helping you name the hurdles that have prevented you from living in wholeness and freedom.
My Background and Approach
On a practical level, I desire to help you recognize your feelings and share them with others. I work with you to create a toolbox of grounding techniques that you can use, to ultimately grow in relationship to your emotions. It is helpful to know how to move through our feelings, instead of feeling controlled or overwhelmed by them. On a deeper level, my approach to therapy is relational. I desire to partner with you and move through the hurdles in your life that are preventing you from feeling connected to yourself, others and the world around you. We are integrated beings, and I believe that our mental, emotional, physical, behavioral, spiritual and relational facets of life are all interconnected. I ultimately long to help you piece together all the parts of your story, to honor each part of you, past and present. My hope is that you experience deep and lasting healing by integrating all the part of you, and experience a sense of wholeness, fullness, and love from the inside out.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that the epitome of the human experience is to be fully known and fully loved. It is difficult to experience genuine love when we are not fully known, because that love is partial. And it is scary to be fully known because we risk rejection and/or abandonment. I believe that we experience wounding in life through relationships, since we are relational beings, and I therefore believe that our holistic healing also needs to come through emotionally corrective, safe relationships. I became a therapist because I am passionate about creating a safe place where my clients can risk being fully known and where all the parts of them can be fully accepted. I believe that each person is worthy of dignity, respect, love, and permission to be their full selves. When we feel we have to cut off parts of ourselves to receive love we bump into problems. My desire in therapy is to help you know and understand all the parts of you and reintegrate these into your life for healing and wholeness.
