About My Clients
One of the more common things we experience in today's world, anxiety. Many of my clients come in with mood related issues, but particularly anxiety. From the feeling of not being able to breathe due to being in a crowded area, to not being able to make decisions due to fear of making the wrong one. From life transitions to simple tasks. Anxiety can be crippling. I work with my clients to help come up with a plan on how to deal with anxiety and help them understand why anxiety is there.
My Background and Approach
I have a B.A in Psychology from Texas A&M University-Kingsville, and a M.S in clinical mental health counseling from Tarleton State University. I am under the supervision of Gaby Garcia, PsyD, LPC-S. I have clinical experience working with anxiety depression, anger management, loss, suicidal ideation, life transitions, emotional regulation, and trauma. I work from a person-centered approach and work with my clients to help find solutions and skills that work best for them.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that anyone who wants to change can. I believe that people need to feel supported. I am a volunteer member of Dream Big, it is a non-profit organization in North Texas (Fort Worth) that provides clients who are underinsured or uninsured counseling services, because mental health should be affordable to everyone. Growing up I went through many life transitions and went to therapy because of it, during this time I learned what I wanted to be. I wanted to help people the way others helped me. I do not discriminate based on gender, race, sexuality, religious belief. Everyone has the right to believe what they want to believe.
