About My Clients
I specialize in working with clients who are exploring gender or sexual identities, childhood trauma, PTSD, individuals late diagnosed with ADHD or seeking ADHD diagnosis, depression, and anxiety. I believe in exploring the past to inform how we manage stress, interpersonal relationships, and learned behaviors.
My Background and Approach
I specialize in working with clients who are exploring gender or sexual identities, childhood trauma, PTSD, individuals late diagnosed with ADHD or seeking ADHD diagnosis, depression, and anxiety. I believe in exploring the past to inform how we manage stress, interpersonal relationships, and learned behaviors. When working with children I use a variety of approaches to best meet the client’s needs. I pull from art therapy, music therapy, movie therapy, and play therapy to further connect with clients and create a safe space. Through the use of these approaches I am able to further explore the child’s presenting problem and allow the client to build trust. I work with monogamous and non-monogamous couples, including those in polyamorous relationships. I draw from the Gottman method, emotionally focused therapy, feminist theory, and internal family systems. I works to improve communication, conflict resolution, intimacy, and functioning. My approach is individualized to each client.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I understand that neurodivergence can feel overwhelming or isolating, especially when diagnosed later in life. As someone late diagnosed with ADHD, I'm all too familiar with the challenges and obstacles. I understand that neurodivergent brains function differently and therefore clients need different tools and skills to succeed. I believe that neurodivergent individuals are not “broken”, they simply benefit from alternative tools to manage daily life. When working with children, I recognize the importance of creating a safe space that encourages the client to be excited to return to the next session. I believe that therapy can be fun while still being productive. As a member of the LGBTQIA+ population, I know firsthand how challenging navigating the world can be. I root my work in gender-affirming and feminist interventions. I aim to empower you and your authentic self.
