About My Clients
I specialize in working with adolescents and adults with a wide-range of issues, including depression, anxiety, trauma, addiction, ADHD, relationship issues, grief, and identity issues. My treatment is tailored to clients' specific goals and needs, and I emphasize meeting them where they are in the moment and guiding them through their transformation process.
My Background and Approach
Although you or your teen may feel isolated and as if no one understands your struggles, I'm here to tell you you're not alone. As your therapist, I hope to help you face your difficulties head-on in a compassionate, empathetic, and nonjudgmental way. I've had years of experiencing working in schools and community mental health clinics, working with children, teens and adults from diverse backgrounds. Currently, I'm a psychological associate (PSB 94026534) working under the supervision of Dr. Supatra Tovar (PSY31949). Engaging in an integrative approach (e.g., psychodynamic, multicultural, systems, CBT) that emphasizes culturally sound and sensitive practices is of utmost importance to me as an Asian-American therapist, and I pride myself in providing the highest level of support and care to each and every one of my clients.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
As a BIPOC therapist, I am passionate about being a social justice advocate. I believe that there are inherent systemic problems in our society that largely contribute to the mental health issues that we experience, and I make sure to be mindful of these issues when working with my clients. With the level of collective trauma that is occurring due to systemic racism, ableism, homophobia, misogyny, etc., I believe it's important to address and acknowledge the impact of that on your unique life experiences and struggles.
