About My Clients
I enjoy and have quite a bit of experience working with LGBTQAI+ populations, late diagnosed ADHD in adult women, and trauma survivors. I utilize my life experiences and education to help my clients find, work towards, and reach their goals, regardless of current situation. I work best with clients who want to make a change, or have tried over and over and are ready for a new approach. I'll happily hold your hand as we take this adventure together!
My Background and Approach
I like to tell my clients "I have the toolbox. I'll hand you tools, you try them out and see if they work. If not, no worries! I've got more." I'm constantly learning new techniques and finding new ways to solve as many problems as possible. I also utilize Narrative therapy techniques to help you examine where you came from and start fixing the behaviors that sometimes make your life a little more difficult. I am a fairly new therapist, but I have a lot of life experiences to bring to the table, and I specialize in seeing things from different perspectives. You will always leave knowing that you've examined all the possible reasons why you're struggling. I want my clients to be the best version of themselves they can achieve right now, even if that means you're not perfect. Every day allows my clients to try again to reach their goals or take even 1 step towards improvements. When you're done with therapy, you should feel ready to take on any issue that comes charging at you!
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that every person deserves to be respected, listened to, believed, and challenged. Sometimes our beliefs are part of the problem, and sometimes we need to see another's opinion or life experiences to learn. I think that learning how what we've been through has impacted us is the first step into learning healthy behaviors, ones that will connect us with others, show our strength and resiliency, and help us be independent. I have struggled with ADHD for years, and I've learned more about myself through therapy than I have anywhere else. I want to help others see the impacts of not knowing and not understanding how our pasts define us. I am part of the LGBTQIA+ community, and support others as often as I can. I believe that providing a space where others can open up and be completely honest is one of the most powerful tools I can provide. I am also an avid nerd, and enjoy RPG's, video games, reading, and swimming. It's important to have hobbies that you enjoy!
