About My Clients

Most of my work has been with people who have experienced trauma across the lifespan, particularly queer and trans folks. Most of my best fits have been people who have struggled to connect with other therapists, or who have previously been characterized as a “difficult client.” I understand that trauma has a deep impact that can spiderweb out across all out behaviors and relationships, and, cheesy as it may sound, consider it an honor to walk along people on their journey towards healing.

My Background and Approach

I’ve been a practicing social worker since 2016, but have experience in the social work field going back to 2012. My first work in the field was in supporting survivors of sexual and domestic violence, and working with folks who have experienced abuse on relationships is still central to my practice. I also have experience as a Peer Support Specialist providing non-pathologizing support to people experiencing what the clinical field considers mental illness, and this frame is part of what has shaped my clinical approach. As a clinical social worker, I’ve focused on working with queer and trans folks and survivors of trauma from a depathologizing, anti-oppressive stance. I have training in Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherpy (AEDP) an attachment-oriented emotion-focused approach to treating trauma that emphasizes humanity and authenticity in the relationship between therapist and client and uses emotional and embodied experience to process trauma.
