About My Clients
Feeling overwhelmed, stressed out, hopeless? Will the intrusive racing thoughts ever go away? Will I find the energy or motivation to not just get through life, but thrive in meaning and purpose? Will I ever feel safe and trust again? The questions that I have asked so many times going through my own traumas throughout life. Good news can surely bring hope in the face of adversity, but can we believe it unless we experience it? I've been there, been through it, and will help you do the same.
My Background and Approach
I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in Washington and LPC in Ohio with a MA in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. Served in the USN as a Hospital Corpsman/COTA. I am currently working towards my Doctorate of Ministry in Spiritual Formation & Soul Care at Biola University. I specialize in EMDR Therapy and Christian (integrated) counseling. I have experience in helping clients with Trauma (acute/Chronic/complex), stress and anxiety, Narcissistic Abuse, Premarital/marital/relationship issues, chronic pain, depression, and most mental health conditions. I work with my clients and believe in authenticity and transparency to create an open and safe environment where thoughts and feelings can be shared without fear of judgment. Learning coping strategies and skills to manage life stressors is great, but my goal ultimately is that you actually heal and grow in the abundant life.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I am a huge believer in the Wellness Model and take a Holistic approach to counseling which incorporates the Mind, Body, and Spirit. The foundational Biblical worldview of the Christian Counselor is what sets them apart from others. I believe that humans are Imago Dei (Made in the Image of God) and have intrinsic value bestowed upon them by their Creator (Yahweh). I believe that every person can be redeemed through the sacrificial love of Jesus Christ where the collision of mercy, grace, and love at the cross portrays the worth of every single human being...that is, that God would send His only Son into the world to pay the ultimate price to save us from destruction; He did this even though we were still enemies towards Him...and by this act giving us new life and freedom to no longer be slaves to our sin which brings upon us death. Seeing people through this lens gives the ability to see people who are worth infinite value with the hope of becoming who they were created to be.
