About My Clients
Are you afraid, confused, or struggling with your relationships? I work with client(s) dealing with interpersonal issues and communication challenges. It may be a husband and wife re-defining their roles with life changes, or an individual considering a career change. The problem often reveals itself at the surface when arguing and verbal conflict ensue, but the source of the problem may require a deeper adjustment. I am curious about you, the problem, and how we might facilitate a healing path.
My Background and Approach
I have a Bachelors in Biomedical Sciences from Cal Poly, SLO. Before transitioning into family therapy, I worked as a medical device consultant in Silicon Valley supporting hospitals across the US. I recently graduated with a Master of Arts in Clinical Psychology from Pepperdine University, specializing in Marriage & Family Therapy. I have a variety of experience working with individuals, couples, and children. I utilize an integrative approach to therapy that includes CBT, relational, cognitive behavioral, narrative, and play therapy for children. I understand the unique personal challenges of individuals and family members and how distressing life events can be. I practice mindfulness and help my clients develop adaptive coping skills to overcome difficult life situations. I provide hope by collaborating with my clients and joining them on a therapeutic journey of healing. Before I can help anyone, I too, must demonstrate the art and spirit of living.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe in learning about the human experience. While I may be thoroughly educated with a pre-med degree from Cal Poly and an advanced Master's degree from Pepperdine University, nothing is as important as learning from your human experience. Your emotional well being is paramount to any discoverable scientific pattern or well developed research study. In order for me to help anyone I must be able to maintain a healthy physical, emotional, and spiritual balance. So, I must constantly practice the art, science, and spirit of living. Some of the activities that have helped me maintain balance include: creative writing, swimming, surfing, working in groups, and long beach walks. We must strive for clarity and the ability to imagine our own healing. Once we build awareness of the problem, then we may collaborate on the journey to peace, balance and emotional well-being.
