About My Clients
Are you feeling pulled in multiple, different directions? Do you often struggle with feeling "not enough?" Are you trying to decide your next steps when the world seems uncertain and unsafe? I specialize in working with adults affected by individual and systemic trauma/stress and help them feel safer, more empowered, and hopeful to create a life worth living.
My Background and Approach
My hope is to create a warm and collaborative space where your thoughts, feelings, and voice are honored. I use a integrative, client-centered approach where we identify your values and make sure our steps are aligned with what matters to you. Over the past ten years, I have supported clients across the lifespan who have experienced symptoms of anxiety, depression, and traumatic stress, especially survivors of complex/relational trauma. As a second generation bicultural Taiwanese/Chinese American psychologist, I am especially interested in helping people who are navigating cultural and identity issues in their healing process.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
"The opposite of social exclusion is not integration or inclusion, but participation" - Jane Millar As a cishet psychologist, I am committed to lifelong learning and action to support antiracist and anti-oppressive practices so that more people can enjoy and participate fully in the world around them. In addition to practicing therapy, I also serve on the Board of an Oakland-based nonprofit, Centerforce, which supports individuals and families impacted by incarceration.
