I believe in therapeutic relationships as a building block toward a future that is more just than the present. The world changes for the better when transformed individuals spread their healing through their interactions with others. My Background and Approach
What many refer to as symptoms, I see instead as messages demonstrating the ways a person has been stretched beyond their ability to cope. While I draw on a range of theories and techniques, they all recognize relationships as primary sites for meaning and feeling. I believe that humans rise and fall to occasions in life depending on a wide variety of influencing factors. Particularly, our important relationships can form the templates for our relationships throughout life. Still, when we have been hurt, we have an incredible capacity to repair from the inside out.
