About My Clients
If you are in pain, if you want to change, if you just feel like things could be better - please reach out. My clients have struggled with anger, worried about life transitions, wanted to better understand their identities, strove to build better relationships and everything in-between. No matter the reason you're seeking therapy - know you deserve support. I believe that everyone is capable of healing and my goal is to help you live the life you want.
My Background and Approach
My role is to create a trusting space where learning, change, and growth can occur. I have experience and training in relational feminist practice, CBT, DBT, and EMDR. We’ll work together to explore which techniques and approaches will help you live the life you want to live. I have a relaxed and casual style. I love to use humor, when appropriate, and I definitely want to see photos of your pets/babies/plants/art etc. We are here to do really hard work AND I want to get to know you as a whole person. The first time I experienced the transformative power of accompanying another person through their pain was as a volunteer on a sexual violence hotline. Since then, I complete a dual degree in social work and public health to better understand the connections between policy, power, and individual suffering. I’ve worked in a variety of settings including a college counseling center and a large outpatient primary center.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I strive to center my client’s agency throughout the therapeutic process and that includes how and when we discuss politics, power, identities, and our own relationship dynamics. I sincerely believe that systemic oppression and power structures impact our individual healing journeys. The therapeutic space is not immune to the power dynamics of the world around us. I believe there is healing in naming this reality. I’ll let you set the pace as I welcome these conversations into our therapeutic relationship.
